Abel Coe

Abel Coe, our Naturalist Guide at Turneffe Flats, Belize, has been snorkeling and exploring the wonders of Turneffe Atoll for more than two decades. Largely self-taught, Abel has expansive knowledge of Turneffe’s diverse and wonderful fauna and flora, which he enjoys sharing with visitors. Abel was born and raised in a Mayan village in Southern Belize and left as a young man to begin a career in tourism. He spent several years guiding in Belize’s rainforest, primarily at the well-known resort Chaa Creek, where he became a dedicated “birder.” He is also an accomplished underwater photographer, and his slideshows are always a highlight.
